Our Favorite EV Features Inside The 2023 Subaru Solterra
Introducing the 2023 Subaru Solterra EV to Fort Myers Drivers
The 2023 Solterra is Subaru’s first entry into the growing EV market. This attractive, eco-friendly SUV lives up to expectations with impressive styling, rugged durability, and high-tech components. At Subaru of Fort Myers near Cape Coral, we’ve gathered together our favorite features to share with you.
Our Favorite Powertrain Features
Our number one feature on the Solterra is the zero-emissions powertrain. Subaru built the Solterra in a partnership with Toyota, using a dual-motor, all-electric platform that delivers 215 horsepower and 249 lb-ft of torque. Subaru added four drive modes that adjust battery usage and torque conditions: Eco, Normal, Power, and X-Mode. We especially like X-Mode, which powers each wheel independently for safe driving on slippery roads or uneven terrain.
In Subaru style, the Solterra has off-road capability thanks to its 8.3 inches of ground clearance and low-speed cruise called Grip Control. Drivers can deactivate the stability control on the Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system to add more power to the rear axle for more fun on ORV trails.
We also appreciate the Subaru Solterra EV features related to charging and battery use. The 72.9-kWh battery provides about 225 miles of range. At-home charging with a Level 2 charger takes about nine hours while charging with a DC Fast Charge Station, the Solterra adds 80 percent to the battery in a little under an hour. Drivers can manage the regenerative braking system with steering wheel control - another one of our favorite electric SUV features.
Impressive Tech in the Cabin
Subaru is offering three trims: Premium, Limited, and Touring. All Solterra models come standard with the Subaru EyeSight suite of active safety features like Blind Spot Monitoring, Emergency Steering Assist, Intersection Collision Avoidance, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection, and Adaptive Cruise Control. Our team also appreciates that all Subaru Solterra EV SUV models have LED headlights.
The Premium trim has an 8.0-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, and five USB ports. It comes with heated front seats and automatic climate control. Buyers can add Subaru Solterra Connect with remote start, roadside assistance, a Wi-Fi hotspot, navigation, and a vehicle health report.
Subaru adds a 12.3-inch touchscreen with navigation, a Harman Kardon stereo, surround-view parking camera system, and wireless device charging to the Limited trim. The Touring trim includes comfort features like a panoramic moonroof, ventilated front seats, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.
