You can get a new Subaru and drive away in the latest model with fresh features and technology. If you’re ready to move on, simply return your Subaru hassle-free at the end of your lease term. Need more time? You can extend your lease to keep enjoying your current vehicle a little longer. Or, if you’ve grown attached, you have the option to purchase your vehicle and make it yours for good.

Get a New Subaru
Start by browsing our new inventory and checking for any monthly specials. Once you’ve found your next Subaru, we’ll provide a fair estimate of your vehicle’s value. When you’re ready, apply for financing online or visit us in person.
Return Your Subaru
Set up a pre-inspection before turning in your Subaru to catch any issues early. About two weeks before returning, schedule your appointment with us and remove all personal items from your ride. Remember to return all original items like keys and manuals.
Extend Your Lease
Keep making your payments and double-check that your automatic payments are still active. Contact us to find out if you’re eligible and request your one-time extension. When it ends, you can return or buy your Subaru.
Purchase Your Vehicle
Contact us for your purchase amount and the steps to complete your buyout. Once everything’s processed and paid in full, your title will be mailed. Apply easily with online financing.
Lease Return Program FAQs
Will I be charged for “wear and tear” when I turn in my lease?
While Subaru will subtract the first $1,000 of Wear and Use charges from your lease-end bill, examples of damage you could be charged for when you return your vehicle include:
- Exterior
- Any scratches, dents or dings that are larger than a credit card.
- More than three scratches, dents or dings per vehicle panel that are smaller than a credit card.
- Glass
- Any glass damage.
- Tire
- Tire tread that is less than 1/8th of an inch deep at the lowest point and/or not comparable to the original tires for the vehicle.
- Any tire damage.
- Any mismatched tires.
- Interior
- Any interior damage.
- Missing items
- Missing keys, manuals, cargo covers or any other items that came with the vehicle when you leased it.
Should I have a pre-inspection completed prior to my lease maturing?
A pre-inspection is recommended but not required. If you think your vehicle has any qualifying damage, you can schedule a pre-inspection so that you’ll have the opportunity to make repairs which may reduce your lease-end charges. Please note that all repairs must be completed by a licensed repair facility and receipts should be provided.

How much will it cost me if I am over my original contracted miles?
Please contact us as charges can range from 15 to 30 cents per mile. Some leases may allow you to pre-buy additional mileage at a lower rate.
What do I need to bring when I return my Subaru?
Turn in any items that came with your Subaru when you first leased it – including keys, manuals and cargo covers. You may be charged for any missing items.
Is it possible to end my lease early?
For information about early lease termination, see the Early Termination section of your Lease Agreement. If you’re interested in moving out of your current lease early and into another Subaru, please contact Subaru of Fort Myers as you may be eligible for some great benefits!
Can I certify my current Subaru and purchase it?
Yes! Buying your current Subaru is a good choice to retain your trusty vehicle even after the lease ends. If your Subaru qualifies for the Subaru certification process, Subaru of Fort Myers can certify your vehicle and process the paperwork for your purchase so that you can enjoy all the benefits that accompany certification.
Are there benefits to returning my current Subaru and leasing a new Subaru?

If you return your vehicle and lease another Subaru through Subaru Motors Finance
You'll get these benefits:
